School Development Planning

About This Service

School Development Planning is a structured service that helps schools in Western and Central Uganda create a clear, practical roadmap for improvement. We work with school leadership, teachers, and board members to assess the current situation, identify priority needs, and set realistic goals for the next three to five years. The plan covers key areas such as teaching quality, learner performance, infrastructure, staffing, community engagement, and financial sustainability. Our team guides the school through every stage, from gathering baseline data and holding stakeholder consultations to drafting the plan and setting measurable targets. We align the plan with Uganda's education policies and the specific context of your school, whether it is a government-aided, private, or community institution. The result is a living document that leaders can use for daily decisions, budgeting, and reporting to district education offices and development partners. FOPEC also supports implementation by helping schools monitor progress, review the plan each term, and adjust actions where needed. This service is suitable for primary and secondary schools, as well as vocational and technical institutions, across the 36 districts we serve. Our aim is to build local capacity so that school communities can sustain improvement long after our engagement ends.

FOPEC delivers this service nationwide across Uganda, covering all regions and sub-regions: Rwenzori, Tooro, Ankole, Kigezi, Buganda, Busoga, Bugisu, Bukedi, Teso, Karamoja, Sebei, Acholi, Lango, and West Nile.
